Mike successfully defended his dissertation (Context dependence in effects of nutrient enrichment on tropical coral reefs) on Oct 8th to the accolades of his PhD committee (thanks to Suzie Mills, Rob Fletcher, Gustav Paulay, Brian Silliman, and Tom Frazer for all of their support and insight). Mike will be teaching a field course in Marine Ecology before heading off to his NSF post-doctoral fellowship -- he'll be working with Andy Sih and Marissa Baskett at UC Davis, extending his work on "the landscape of fear". All of the UF lab, and some of the UGA lab, joined in the festivities, as did Suzie Mills, as we all donned our new lab t-shirts.
